Euclides
APARICIO
Euclides Aparicio has played maracas since the age of 3. He is the youngest member of a family dynasty of traditional folk musicians in Venezuela, Isabelita Aparicio y Los Hermanos Aparicio. This group toured internationally and producing about 30 albums. They have been awarded prizes in Venezuela and other countries, such as the “Guaicaipuro de Oro” and the “Romulo Gallegos” Order, in Venezuela, and the “Spanish Medal of the Winter Carnivals” of Tenerife. In 1996, Euclides was invited to work as a visiting professor at the University of Washington, teaching maracas, Venezuelan cuatro, and folk singing. Euclides is an active performer in the Seattle area and has participated in many recordings as a session musician.
